Yesterday was only the second time in 18 golf seasons that the pond pump was serviced...
It was in need of cleaning as well as "checking the gap" and motor, etc.
The complex job involves "pulling" the pump.
Mountainview Electric in Enderby (250-838-6455) is the contractor, and Highlands Golf is lucky indeed that the "best guys in the business" always attend here. It takes highly-skilled and experienced tradesmen to perform the work. And Kevin and Doug were up to the task!
Lots of cleaning was involved, including goldfish bones(!) from the screen, scraping off dirt and a thin coat of rust on the non-stainless (cast) sections.
Many (uncaptioned) photos, in no particular order, follow as I wanted a photo record of the 6-hour long process today.
Tractor at the ready...to pull the pump via straps. |
That "orangey" stuff in front of his boot is bones...fish bones cleaned from the screen! |
Here, Doug and Kevin are preparing to separate the numerous "stages" of the pump after straps are removed. |
Each "stage" of the pump has impellers, which resemble shark teeth in this close-up. |
"Gap" is good...almost perfect after 18 years. |
...The Blogger format stalled at this point.
So we'll load more photos now:
And then they put the entire pump back together again...
A big thanks to Pat, owner of Mountainview Electric in Enderby, and his excellent tradesmen, Kevin and Doug. Within 6 hours, we were up 'n runnin' again!
Thanks, guys!
