Very Very Sick of it ...

Yes indeed.

And this anonymous document says it EXACTLY as I feel it.

"I’m sick of covid-19.
I’m sick of black vs. white.
I’m sick of Democrats vs. Republicans.
I’m sick of gay vs. straight.
I’m REALLY sick of the media.
I’m sick of the language being used and plastered all over the media.
I’m sick of no one being allowed to think what they want
and feel what they do without offending someone.
I am sick of the people who are out there jumping on the bandwagon to protest just to cause mass confusion and more hatred and to riot, loot, and destroy.
I am sick of blaming the world for the sins of a few.
I’m sick of people who think that 160
-year old history is our fault. It’s history. Get over it!
We’re one race—the human race. We All Matter!
You want to support President Trump? You do it! It’s your choice.
You want to support Biden? Fine
- also your choice!
You want to believe in God? Okay, believe in God.
You want to believe in magical creatures that fly around
and sprinkle fairy dust to make life better? Awesome - you do it!

BUT how about being mature enough to be able to deal with the fact that everyone doesn’t have the same exact mind-set as you. Having our own minds is what makes us all individuals and beautiful. If you can’t handle that fact
, I’m sorry! I don’t have to agree with everything you believe in.

So be a decent human being. Love one another, be kind, be humble, be thankful, help a stranger and do a good deed, daily!"

Well done, whoever wrote that.
And a big thanks to a friend who sent it to me.
Couldn't have said it better myself!

Plus...I'm getting really sick of Canada's Federal politicians!

The "Trudeaus Truth"

At least an accurate comment.
But it's not about the current "WE" fiasco that involves the present Trudeau family.

This comment is a backgrounder from a well-informed individual:

"#147 Ace Goodheart on 07.18.20 at 11:28 pm
T2’s grandfather was an oil man. T2’s family money comes from petrochemicals. Without that cash, T1 would never have been Prime Minister, and T2 would probably never have been born.

The Trudeau’s got their cash from oil.

T2 is now in full rebellion against his grandfather, shutting down Canada’s oil and gas sectors.

His father, somewhat the wiser man, tried to nationalize Canada’s oil and gas industries.

T2 is trying to destroy them. They are to be replaced by “green energy”, electric car companies (that do not exist in Canada) and from what i can tell, a lot of fairy dust and pixies.

Canada (and the Trudeau family) made its money off of natural resources. If we allow T2 to shut down our resource industries, we had better make sure he has something planned to replace them, other than trips on Greta’s borrowed yacht.
Otherwise, there will be no industry left to tax………"

Nice People Make a Crappy Day Wonderful

On my way to the garbage dump on Hwy 97 this morning, I heard a POP and the flat tire light lit on the dashboard.  Luckily I was in the slow lane, about 100 yards from the S Clerke turnoff, so I pulled onto that road.

I thought I needed to be towed back to town, so phoned Vernon Towing (thank goodness for cellphones...) and spoke with a lovely and helpful--and very understanding--lady named Dawn.  She said someone would be along to help me shortly.  Within 20 minutes, the tow truck arrived, and a nice fellow named Rick said it wasn't necessary to tow me to town.

Said he knew where my spare was--and all the tools to lower it (on its chain) from under the truck box (tools are under the back seat...who knew?!?  not me!)  He found the lug nut tool in my glovebox and within a few minutes, had the old tire off (using his trusty jack), and the new one on.

This company is my first choice...from now on!

Rick, a great guy...sure knows his stuff!

It wasn't an hour and I was on the road back to town...to OK Tire.  The Vernon Towing charge was only $70.00.  Great service and not expensive.  Thanks to Dawn at Vernon Towing Dispatch, 250.545.2311.

I had called Luke at OK Tire to say I would likely be towed in, and he said he'd be ready for me.
He wasn't surprised when I arrived without being towed in...and within half an hour, Luke's friendly crew also found all the tools under the seat, lug nut tool in the glovebox, and had the old tire repaired, saying it was still good luckily after flat repair.  Flat repair only $28.00.  Again, great service and not expensive.

These great people made a really crappy day so much better...

Whew...

One thing:  Beware of the slow lane on Hwy 97 on the way to the garbage dump.  I think people's trucks heading to the dump may--and probably do--lose nails and screws occasionally.

Stay in the fast lane as a precaution against flat tires.

Oh yeah...I never did make it to the garbage dump today!
Tomorrow maybe.

Windstorm ...

Yesterday afternoon's windstorm was like a Reminder string around one's finger...

A reminder?
Yup.

A maple tree, at parking lot edge, lost a big branch in the storm

More on the reminder part later...

OK, the reminder part:
Some months ago, we had sawed about one-third of that large branch (look closely at first photo, above).  The saw quit and we left the job "for another day".

Well, then we both got busy with other spring projects and, even when the saw repair had been completed, didn't get back to removing that branch.  We simply forgot about it!  We're amazed that we BOTH forgot about that partially-sawn branch.

So yesterday when the storm arrived, fortunately golfers--and parked cars--were few (folks having obviously seen the black clouds on the horizon) when the branch CRASHED down onto the pavement.

Whew...the only liability was our bruised egos.

Google Gods II

And, as the saying goes, the Devil's in the details.

Blog problem all started after the last post, and I wish I knew someone who could explain to me what the hell is going on.

The first message I received from Google when trying to access my blog:

As it turns out, I had a long-ago Gmail address, but that address didn't have permission to access my blog.  And I couldn't use the ...telus.net address because of the "...an organization has reserved this telus.net address" info to allow my long-ago Gmail address to get that permission to access my blog.

So I was dead in the water.

Google, after me getting very very angry, advised there are two existing Google Accounts for me.  One is a G-suite account, "an account owned by telus.net".
And the other is a Personal Google Account, (the old Gmail address that was unused, and had no permission).

Thinking I could use that old Gmail address, change the password, and use it to access my blog, I tried that.  Bloody thing didn't work.

Then I received a temporary account:  (barbara_mitchell%telus.net@gtempaccount.com).

So after I completed tons of questions on this (new) Gmail (but temporary) account, it appears I might be getting ALL my emails on that?  time will tell.  I tried to contact Telus to find out what the hell is going on and why they "own" my old email address in a "G Suite account", that is inaccessible to me!  But there's no way to contact anyone at Telus without waiting on hold for an hour.  Yes, that's correct.

But...PRESTO, there's my blog and I am in!!!!  Yahoooooo!  Ooops, that's a bad word in Google's world.  Yippeeeeeee then!

Now I'll have to check and see if--after I post this and sign out--whether I can get back into my blog.
Will have to delete the very old Gmail address and use only the new one.

And then I have Google Blogger's "new" rolled out Blogger format to switch to...(gawd, give me strength!)

Okay...in case I can't get back in, I wanted to post some stormcloud photos...we've had a whack of rain in the last 4 days...and in May/June generally!  Almost an inch of water in the raingauge from the last 24 hours.

So...finally photos loaded.
Now to sign out...oh oh.
