Okanagan Indian Band Writes to T2
They wrote our Prime Minister a letter, published today by Castanet:
"We, the Chief and Council of the Okanagan Band and member of the Syilx/Okanagan Nation wish to express our support for the Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chiefs who are attempting to protect their land by blocking TC Energy’s Coastal GasLink pipeline from Alberta to the B.C. coast," states the letter signed by Louis.
"When the Crown or its agencies refuse to hear from a legitimate level of government such as a Hereditary Government and its Chiefs, it is seen as (a) calculated and insidious attempt to divide communities and sow internal dissent within the nation in order to impose its will. This is not in the spirit of proper consultation and tramples all attempts at establishing true reconciliation as articulated by the Supreme Court of Canada and the UN in its Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples."
“Canada’s history is replete with instances of First Nations people forcibly removed from their land. Whether by government policy or police action, the result is the same – economies and cultures are destroyed, ecosystems ravaged and rights unjustifiably extinguished in the name of 'public interest.'"
Louis goes on to say: "that consultation and reconciliation demand respect for rules and systems of government "that were in effect in this land long before people with Western European ideas of governance immigrated here."
Tramples all attempts?
"True" reconciliation?
Economies destroyed?
We know about Trudeau destroying things...all sorts of things.
Including the economy!
So how about YOU removing the blockades so the economy isn't destroyed?
You know...the economy that pays YOU.

Silly Season Approaches
A federal election looms, and while I've been dreading the campaigning gibberish--not to mention seeing Justin Trudeau on the news more than we usually do--this landed in my Inbox this morning.
I'd be a happy camper if only a third of it were true.
Over the last year, it's frankly been hard to find anyone who admits to having voted for Trudeau.
More importantly, people are saying "he has to go, even if a monkey were running against him."
Oh dear, but Andrew Scheer is no monkey.
Anyway, here's what arrived this morning:
" True??
Andrew Scheer has an excellent

-will cut Trudeau’s funding of the UN’s Relief and Works Agency which is a Palestinian group listed as a terrorist organization in Canada "
No idea what is--and isn't--correct about Andrew Scheer's platform, even in established publications.
But something MUST change in this country.
Getting rid of the bumbling and stumbling Justin Trudeau is an excellent start.
'Nuff said.

Canada's No-Penalty Prime Minister...a Misguided Blockhead
Yup...Justin Trudeau is indeed a blockhead, according to a good many folks these days, many of whom have paid Canadian taxes for longer than T2 has been on this earth.
Canadian taxpayers demand accountability, but Justin Trudeau doesn't see it that way.
Our "legalize marijuana" prime minister decided in 2015 after being elected that the First Nations Financial Transparency Act didn't have to be followed.
Even the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation--always in support of financial accountability--is outraged.
Their notification today to supporters is as follows:
"One of the first things the Trudeau government did after being elected in 2015 was to halt enforcement of a key piece of legislation – the First Nations Financial Transparency Act.
The FNFTA requires all 600+ First Nations Bands in Canada to open their books, show Canadians and their own band members how much the chief and council are being paid and publish their audited financial documents.
After it was passed in 2013, all but a few bands complied, and the Harper government used provisions under the law to withhold non-essential funds from bands that flaunted the law.
Yet, in December 2015 the Trudeau government released the money and told the bands there would be no penalty for ignoring the law.
We launched a petition calling for the government to enforce the law. That petition has just under 20,000 signatures. We want to go to Ottawa before the 2019 federal election and deliver a powerful message to our political leaders that this lack of transparency cannot be ignored."
The CTF financial accountability petition is here.
To be fair, "all but a few bands complied" with the FNTA, but the fact that Trudeau states there's no penalty for ignoring the accountability rules is disgusting.
Justin Trudeau is an embarrassing and shameful silver-spoon baby of whom many, many Canadians are ashamed. His stammering and stuttering on the international stage is almost laughable. Almost.

Truisms...Trudeau's Reminder?
Judging by the overheard conversations on the patio during events, it's perhaps time someone "our age" reminds T2--unaffectionate abbreviation for Justin Trudeau, our nation's prime minister--of some of this stuff:
![]() |
| Rich pay no tax? Wasn't it only the poor who paid none? |
The result of conversations that ensued after learning four in 10 Canadians pay no taxes at all.
Then someone added that 45% of Americans pay no tax!
So: truisms follow:
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
So the middle class pays, and pays, and pays, and pays...because that's the largest group...
Very clever, governments!
Are you listening, T2?
Stone-deaf silence.

Thanks for Nothin, T2
A completely painful and poignant comment on a blog I follow...concerning Canada's economy and the near future is provided below.
Actually, it's more than painful and poignant.
Because "Canadian conditions" are pitiful, piteous, pitiable, pathetic, sorrowful, mournful, tearful, wretched, miserable, bitter, painful, distressing, disturbing, heart-rending, heartbreaking, tear-jerking, plaintive, upsetting, tragic...thanks to the Dictionary.
Yup, that's it, the truth.
And it's hard to swallow.
But just wait until the future...when the chickens come home to roost, as the saying goes.
Anyway here's the comment:
-
"Lets do some easy math for everyoneespecially those drooling on Liberal pablum.Investment moved outside the country – $100B
Stalled, cancelled, shelved, blocked projects – $100B
Increase in Canadas debt past 4 yrs – $100B
Lost annual tax revenue from projectsnot moving forward – $50BPMI falling last 3 months.GDP falling past 6 months.Fall recession likely in the cards.Trudeau has cost Canada more than 1/3 of a trilliondollars in lost wealth.Thanos got nothing on this guy.Progressives wanted no energy industry. We are about to find out what that feels like. And statscan take out window jobs wont come closeto replacing that engine of the economy."I'm going to leave that comment as an anonymous one.Because I think we all understand how critical the situation has become since Justin Trudeau became Prime Minister of Canada.God forbid he gets a second term.Anybody would/could do a better job, especially someone with economists as advisors.Justin Trudeau's legacy?Well, apart from being an apologetic and bumbling fool for whom the world's problems aren't all that important to him--or his country--he's a trust fund child.Doesn't live in the real world.Where the rest of us do.Hold onto your hats, folks, it'll be a wild ride...to the bottom.

Trust Eroding for T2
Another reason for our suspicion surrounding Trudeau et al.
And a good one at that.
Judge for yourself...is he looking after Canada and Canadians' interests?
"Before Pierre Elliot Trudeau entered politics, his family owned Champlain Oil and the L'Aigle D'Or (Golden Eagle) gas stations in Easter Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Sweet crude from Saudi Arabia was shipped to KC Irving refineries in the Maritimes, and sold through Trudeau's firm. He had to divest himself of those assets into a 'blind trust' to be in politics.
Ships carrying oil from the Middle East still come to Canada, and unload at the Irving refineries for refining. Gasoline and fuel oil still flow from the Irving refineries. Trudeau and Quebec still profit handsomely from a deal made with Saudi Arabia.
And that is why Trudeau and Quebec resist building a pipeline from Western Canada to the Maritimes. Trudeau is the Prime Minister of Canada, but he resists doing what is good and right for Canadians, but he willing enriches his family's portfolio.
Without a doubt, these assets are still in the family portfolio, and affects young Trudeau’s actions on oil in Eastern Canada.
Bringing oil from Alberta would adversely affect his family's income."
