Core values? Huh?
Other than his penchant for Marxist-leanings, who really knows what his core values are/were?
But the country's economy is falling all around him.
Maybe PM Trudeau is dithering.
Maybe he's playing a violin.
The following email arrived this morning, ostensibly written by the following:
Honourable Jim Abbott, P.C.

No idea if it's from that person...a member of parliament.
We Canadians would probably be happier as a nation if the sentiments expressed were not true.
"I am concerned about
Trudeau as a person.
I
said a month ago that I thought he had a small breakdown; the weird beard, the
continual absences from Canada and the press, the dark look in his eyes, the
family history. I notice his wife has disappeared from the public eye, even
missing the “women and girls” tour in Africa. But now he is facing an utter
collapse of his government. I just can’t imagine the pressure he is facing, the
Teck decision alone, with all its’ historically divisive implications, might be
enough to break a strong person.
But
Teck is almost a tea party compared to the corner he worked himself into with
these empowered crazy protestors. In about three days he could be facing actual
civil war. They are already rationing propane for heating in Quebec, some sixty
ocean transports stranded off Vancouver, grain farmers now paralyzed, coming
food shortages in the East, and no obvious way out of a true crisis. All of
this a stinging refutation of everything he has stood for, everything he has
strived for, everything he has believed. He has to know that he personally is
perceived as the cause of Canada’s imminent collapse, and if he doesn’t he is
being reminded on an hourly basis. He can’t escape to the Caribbean now and he
can’t pursue resolution without sacrificing his core beliefs. I don’t know how
Churchill would have handled this stress; he who would never have allowed
things to get to this point.
He
has hours, not days or weeks, to resolve civil war. His support among Liberal
colleagues must be draining away fast. The mercenary media can only hold out
for so long. I think he might collapse in front of the whole nation. I
wouldn’t wish this on anybody."
Civil war? Oh, for heaven's sake!
Mercenary media?
The CBC hasn't expressed what Canadians are feeling, but that's to be expected.
They don't want to jeopardize funding.
Collapse in front of the whole nation?
It might be time...
No government may be better than this.
Jim Abbott may have been too kind after all.
