Wenatchee 5G

Last week's semi-annual getaway to Wenatchee was fun as always.
A nice escape from late winter.

It's a pleasant 400 km from here to there, with the most stunning geology along Hwy 97 south.
Whether it's the numerous river dams, McIntyre Bluff near Oliver, or the Chelan/Lake Entiat area's luxurious homes, or the mighty Columbia River's meanderings that define the landscapes from Wenatchee through Quincy, then the high plateaus that house Ephrata and Moses Lake, it's eye candy for any amateur geologist...and I mean "amateur".

The temperature was 52F, very pleasant considering temperatures at home were +4C.
The only snow was north of Kelowna, both leaving and arriving back home.

Gas prices in the Wenatchee area ranged between $2.89 and $2.99 a (U.S.) gallon, versus our area's $1.149 (lowest) near Oliver BC.
I've heard it said that gas prices in Alberta (generally) are 99 cents!

My "away home" is always Cedars Inn Motel at 80 Ninth Street in East Wenatchee, and both the room and service were as I expected...all good.

But one new thing caught my eye, right beside the motel parking lot:

The "tree" on the right sure grew fast...wasn't there in October!
A closer look:

Someone said it's a new 5G tower...

The Coronavirus risk in Washington state is, for the most part, being well managed at this time.
Frequent hand-washing, sanitizing surfaces (doorknobs, taps/sinks) and staying away from crowded venues (such as concerts, many of which are being cancelled) is good advice.  Personally, I feel that should be standard procedure anyway in our "modern" world.

That's it for photos...
There are so few rest stops on the highway south where camera shots could've been taken.

Back home now...and it's threatening to snow again.
Back to reality.
