Kids Unfazed by Brutal Cold

...at least they seem to be.

Record cold (feels like a record!) in the North Okanagan in February had everyone huddling in their homes, at least older folks like us.

Temperatures overnight during February/early March routinely hit -19C, a far cry from what we've become used to.  Most weather stations report last year's temperatures much milder than this year.

This snippet shows a -13C temperature at 9:30 a.m., versus -6C in 2018.
I think the coldest at our house was -20C...twice in February!
So much colder than this time last year!

But our grandson, who turns five in two months, loves skiing at Silver Star.
His Mom bundles him up until he can barely bend down (grin), and off he goes!

The Silver Star webcams show what I remember during the years we all had ski passes:  a beautiful and welcoming mountain for family skiing.

But as it turns out, l'il man said he likes the tracked truck the best, and wants one "next year when I'm older".

"I want this truck"...

Grandson's ATV..."it doesn't go far in the snow"

So he's even outgrown his snow racer and sled it seems.

One thing's for sure, kids grow up wayyyyy too quickly.

...even during this year's affectionately-termed new Ice Age!
