Girls Gone Wild -- The 13th Year

These Vernon area gals are planning their 13th--and last--Fundraising Bus Tour.  The annual event is held with 56 local women participating.

Organizer Linda Donhauser wrote me:  "It's with a mixed heart that I announce it will be our last GGW trip.

I truly love this annual event, love organizing it, and working with our terrific sponsors (like you) which allows us to "give back" to help local Charities in our own Community! Thru this organizing process, I realized that it also involves a huge amount of quality time away from my family, and I’m not getting any younger. For these reasons, this will be the LAST GGW tour, as I am retiring and spending more time with my husband, kids & grandkids.

My hope is to make this year the BEST of all trips for our ladies!  Both in fun and also in helping our Community.  For the first couple of years, we just went on a ladies Bus Trip had fun and made great memories.  We came home to our normal lives, and we soon realized that together our GGW Group could help make a difference in our Community!  We are very proud of this!  We were able to do this thanks to funds which were raised by our Silent Auction, Fundraising Events and amazing Contributions from our wonderful Sponsors!

We are all LOCAL and support local Businesses!  Through fund raising, we have donated $26,800.00+ to Vernon Hospice House, $7,000.00+ to the Schubert Centre, Vernon Women’s Transition House, and last year $780.00 to Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.  Almost $35,000.00 donated to help others!  Our tour consists of mom’s, daughters, business women, police women, lawyers, and grandma’s.  All great people, all local.

I am thrilled to share a few photos of a couple of the presentations to Hospice House, VJH and a couple of pics of our group.  We have a different theme every year, thus the reason for our annual costumes!   Yes, we really do show up to board the bus each year at 6:00 AM in our costumes!  This year our theme is “tacky tourist”.

I would like to request that your business PLEASE consider helping us out on our final year!  All donations of Gift Certificates, Coupons, Door Prizes or Swag (stuff we all get) is truly appreciated!  I will be making up gift bags for all our gals this year. This is a great opportunity to promote your business and create goodwill within the community.

We are all truly grateful, and realize that our success would not be possible without your help!  Everyone involved with our event, is encouraged to support our sponsors & their businesses!  All contributors will receive a thank you email and a group photo upon our return.

We are very proud of our continued success of our group, and guarantee we will make you just as proud to be associated with our GGW gals.  My goal is to bring NEW business your way, to help you, as you have helped us!

If you wish to help us out in any way, please reply back via email or call 250-545-8801 and I will be happy to arrange for pick-up or answer any questions.  I truly appreciate your time and consideration for our LAST request.  I look forward to hopefully hearing back from you soon.
Thank you for all you have done in the past to help us, help others.
Respectfully:
Linda"

Highlands Golf is happy indeed to have helped with Girls Gone Wild's successes over the years.  Congratulations, ladies, on $35,000 you have raised.

Well done, Linda!
What an organizer!
